Nicolai is an associate attorney in the Business and Tax Practice Group. His areas of focus include capital funding, entity formation, contract formation & review, corporate governance, acquisitions, and business transactions.
Before entering a career in law, Nicolai worked as a classical musician, performing internationally on stages that included Carnegie Hall and the National Centre for the Performing Arts in Beijing, China. Nicolai is also a licensed funeral director in Oregon and spent many years working for and managing his family’s mortuary company in Portland. Nicolai’s years of experience working in a small family business have given him a unique perspective on the difficulties facing Oregon business owners and a passion for helping find workable solutions.

Nicolai grew up in Baker City, Oregon, and enjoys heading home to Eastern Oregon as often as possible. He and his wife enjoy spending time with family, good food and wine, time on the Oregon Coast, and running with their two dogs.
